FGY Art Gallery Auckland's Art Buffet Brings Joy to the Community
The 7th Art Salon hosted by the Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery Auckland entered its third week, with the highly anticipated Art Buffet held on 18th November 2023. It attracted nearly 200 attendees, including artists, friends of art gallery, art enthusiasts and people from all walks of life to enjoy the vegetarian delights.
Under the guidance of the Temple, BLIA members prepared various vegetarian refreshments, embodying concepts of health and classic culinary art. The attendees praised the quality and refinement of the food, noting its eye-pleasing presentation. The elegant venue setup and enthusiastic service staff made the attendees feel the warmth and dedication of the organizers. Lively performances by BLIA YAD Auckland uplifted the atmosphere, creating many surprises and touching moments.
Team Manager Vicky Han guided the public through the Art Salon, introducing the Temple provides a platform for local artists to display their works and serves as a cultural and artistic exchange hub. This year, 101 local artists participated, showcasing nearly 700 works in various styles, providing an aesthetic feast for the public. Coffee artist Larry Abreño, mosaic artist Luis Casares, painters Sherrill Bentley, Tanya McCabe, Vjekoslav Nemesh and Ian Anderson conducted art workshops and guided tours of their works, engaging in inspiring interactions and receiving high praise.
First-time participating artist Michelle Viskovich brought her mother to the Art Buffet and exhibition. Her mother marveled at the delicious vegetarian meals and was amazed by the exhibition saying, "I've never seen such a spectacular Art Show, it makes one linger and not want to leave." Visitor Kim Sayer commented that the diverse and rich works were intriguing and reflected the artists' heartfelt creation of beautiful life messages. Friends of Art Gallery Diana, mentioned that every visit to the Temple brought her so much joy, and she took many photos to share with her family.
Upholding the guidance of the Founding Master of FGS Buddhist Order, Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery New Zealand strives to bring joy to the public through art and cultural activities, offering spiritual purification, harmony and peace. It also provides artists with an exhibition platform, offering the public an aesthetic space to learn and enhance their quality of life.
