2022 Baby & Children Blessing Ceremony – Receiving Blessings to Grow Safe & Sound
On 13th of November, Fo Guang Shan Auckland organised a Baby & Children Blessing Ceremony amidst the blooming season of the Cherry Trees. There were approximately 200 parents and babies from different countries joining the Ceremony led by the Abbess Manshin of FGS NZ.
The ceremony took place right after a dharma function in the Main Shrine, with parents from a variety of origin such as China, New Zealand, Malaysia, England and India. Abbess Manshin led the recitation of the Heart Sutra, followed by a prayer of the Founder, Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s Prayers and Wishes for Baby and Children. The attendees received blessings for a bright future in front of the Buddha and bodhisattvas. Abbess also prayed that the little ones would grow up safe and sound, while being blessed with virtue and wisdom.
13th of November marked the second day of Cherry Blossom Festival, which was filled with a myriad of activities. There was a huge turnout of visitors in the Temple, with great support for the vegetarian food available and Artist Live Demo in the Art Salon Exhibition Hall. The visitors were able to resonate with the value of serves, and appreciate the beauty in life.
