New Zealand Police Ethnic Internal Support Network Hui was held at Fo Guang Shan Auckland Temple on 7th May 2021. Deputy Police Commissioner Wallace Haumaha, Inspector Rakesh Naidoo, Ethnic Responsiveness Manager Jessica Phuang, as well as 130 police officers from various cultural backgrounds participated in the event. The theme of the conference was We Before I: Caring for Yourself and the Public. Venerable Abbess Manshin was invited to pray for the conference to held smoothly.

Deputy Police Commissioner Wallace Haumaha stated in his speech that this conference is entering its 10th anniversary. The police officers have been working tightly and achieved many brilliant results together. The Deputy Commissioner encourages police officers to take pride in their multicultural background, New Zealand is a country with integrated multi-ethnic, hoping everyone could bring their own cultural values to this country, utilising the advantages of language and cultural background at work, to provide better service to the community and ensure the safety of the country.

The conference specially invited a number of outstanding lectures, Ms Megan Pritchard、National Det. Insp. Greg Cramer、Detective Craig Stirling、Senior Sergeant Kylie Newton and Ms. Anna Nelson to deliver lectures and share a wealth of experience.

The Temple specially prepared 2021 New Zealand BLIA Activities Report as a gift to the participants. The Police Department sincerely thanked the special arrangement, providing the tranquil and pleasant conference venue as well as the ample delightful vegetarian meal to conclude the entire conference.
