Howick Playcentre Visited FSG Auckland Temple

On 20th September 2022, 18 children who aged 3 to 5 from Howick Playcentre, accompanied by 8 teachers and parents, visited Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple Auckland. Venerable NengChien warmly welcomed and guided the teachers and students on a Temple tour, during which they watched the Life of Buddha movie, wrote wishing cards and learnt the values of Three Goodness & Four Givings (3G4G).

When the group stepped into the Front Shrine, the calm atmosphere calm down the young students immediately. Venerable NengChien shared the meaning of 3G4G through simple hand gestures. Then, the students were giving opportunities to make a donation to the Temple as a practice of Giving.

In the Prince Siddhartha Exhibition, the colorful wishing trees, white horse and the elephants’ decorations made the children excited and curious. The young students joyfully drew on the wishing card and post in on the wall. In addition, they also enjoyed playing puzzle together which learn about teamwork and patience.

The teachers and parents who visited for the first time said that they were very pleased to visit with the children to learn about the diverse culture of Fo Guang Shan, and appreciate the Temple for their warm hospitality. Venerable NengChien praised the children for being polite and orderly during the visit, which applying the 3G immediately. Lastly, the young students received Venerable Master's bookmarks as a gift to remember the value of 3G4G and grow with a kind heart.
